THE HEART OF A WEEPING EVANGELIST
“I woke up at 3 a.m. in the morning, praying ang thanking our Lord-Yeshua. After several hours in deep prayer in my home, I found myself crying on my knees for the salvation of the people here in Israel,” said Ze’ev Porat, senior Israeli Hebrew-speaking Evangelist of Bibles For Israel.
In
prayer I heard the Lord say to me, “Go tomorrow to Jerusalem and
tell both peoples, (Jews and Arabs) the Good News of my Son Yeshua.
Tell them to stop searching, as “I AM THE WAY, I AM THE
BREAD OF LIFE.”

So, I drove 45 minutes up Highway 1, to Jerusalem, and drove straight to the Old City of Jerusalem, parked my car, and walked through the winding cobblestone streets of the Jewish quarter in the Old City of David, down to the Kotel (Wailing Wall).
As I entered the outer area of the Wailing Wall, I immediately started to share the Love of Yeshua as the Ruach (Holy Spirit Guided me).
At first, I spoke to some secular Israelis who just outside the Wall. Shimon, Reuven, and Hanna were very interested that I was speaking to them about the Love of God because it is rare for a Jew to speak to another Jew this way. Most Jews talk about “following Torah/the Law.”

I replied to them all saying: “God has given me eternal life by His Grace, and I want you to experience the same thing that the Messiah of Israel who is Yeshua did for me.” I exchanged e-mails with all of them and they said that they will read Isaiah 53.
Then, I walked into the inner area of the Kotel (Wailing Wall).
There were two Orthodox men with their sons (photo of one man with his sons below) walking out away from the Wall backwards which is a “rabbinic teaching/tradition.”
So I asked them: “why are you walking backwards?”
They were very enthusiastic to answer me, so they stopped and said: “The reason we walk out of the Kotel backwards is because we do not turn our back on the Kotel (Wall).
Then, I asked them (their names were Micah and Shlomo which is short for Solomon): “Can you show me where this is in our Jewish Bible?”
They replied, “We don’t know where it is, but we can search for it with you.”
So, we opened a Hebrew Tanakh (Bible) together and AFTER 15 MINUTES of not finding anything, they both said: “Maybe it is not in the bible, but we are sure it is in our Rabbinic books,” and I said, “I’m sure it is,” but that’s the teaching of the rabbis, not God.
I then asked them: “Who was the wisest of all men?”
They both said together: “King Solomon.” Are you sure? I replied.
Micah said: “Yes!”
“Even smarter than the Rabbis who teach us Jews to walk out of the Kotel backwards?”
Again Micah said, “YES.”
I, then, opened the Hebrew Bible (all of our books here in Israel are Hebrew – but I’m just reiterating this because I’m writing this email to you in English) – and I showed them Ecclesiastes 12:11-14, written by King Solomon who they agreed was the “wisest man of all men.” The
words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like
firmly embedded nails—given by one Shepherd. Be warned, my son, of
anything in addition to them. Now
all has been heard; For
God will bring every deed into judgment,
After they read this they were both shocked, and realized that “Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body,” are all of the rabbinic teachings.
Seeds were sown into them that day. I then shared with them the Messianic prophecies and things concerning Yeshua.
I mostly explained the following Messianic prophecies showing them in the Hebrew Bible. Isaiah 7:14 - the miraculous virgin birth of Yeshua, Isaiah 9:6 Isaiah 53 Micah 5 Daniel 9
They were the first people I spoke with, but I stayed at the Kotel and I shared the Gospel for about 6 hours, speaking with more than 50 people, over this long period of time.
I, then fulfilled what the Lord told me to do – to share Yeshua also with the Arabs, so as I left the Kotel, I went to the Arab Muslim quarter.
One of Arabs I spoke was called Ahmad who also lives there in the Arab Muslim quarter of the Old City.
We spoke about love of God, forgiveness of sins, and Yeshua.
Ahmad said: “The Bible is NOT true. Only our Koran is true. And Jesus is not a son of God, Jesus was only a prophet.”
I replied to him saying: “I can prove to you that the Bible is the True Living Word of God,” and I then read to him and explained the same Messianic Prophecies that I showed to the Orthodox Jews.
Isaiah 7:14 - the miraculous virgin birth of Yeshua, Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 53, Micah 5, and Daniel 9
“The Bible is the only book in the world that has Prophecy which has been fulfilled. Things spoken by the Prophets hundreds and thousands of years, and then we know by historical accounts that they came to pass. That’s one of the main reasons that the Bible is true.
Ahmad said that he wants to keep in touch with me and we exchanged contact information.
I then shared the Gospel with many other Arabs, telling them that only through Yeshua can we have eternal Salvation for our souls. I showed them that through Yeshua Jews and Arabs can love one another, and that we are all God’s children, as Rabbi Shaul/the Apostle Paul explains in Roman 11:17 that both Jew and non-Jew are all grafted in to the Olive Tree.
I spent about 3 hours sharing with Arabs before I left back to Tel Aviv – it was an exhilarating but exhausting day as I spent over 9 hours sharing the Gospel in the Old City with more than 70- people.
Would you spend 3 minutes now to pray for the people that I shared Yeshua with, because I know that your prayers make a difference.
